There are, of course, the most popular retirement destinations around the world like France, Canada, and Argentina. Turns out, however, most Filipinos are thinking of retiring to Thailand. It’s pretty surprising since Thailand is kind of similar to the Philippines with both being in the tropics, but the study shows Filipinos like Thailand for a retirement that’s full of adventure.
After Thailand, a lot of Filipinos also want to retire to Canada, Australia, Japan, and Portugal. Overall, Canada also seems to be popular with people from Asian countries.
“Canada was the number one choice for those hoping to retire abroad in Asia, with six countries searching for retirement in Canada the most,” researchers said. “While it might not be the cheapest place to retire, it is known for being a friendly, welcoming and safe destination, making it a popular choice for many.
