(CNN Philippines) Metro Manila — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Saturday announced it has already closed the online registration for the educational aid program for indigent students amid the influx of applicants.

In a media briefing, DSWD spokesperson Romel Lopez said the agency has listed over two million registrants for the payout.

“Eh hindi na po kaya noong aming sistema,” Lopez told reporters. “[M]edyo luma na po ‘yung ginagamit naming sistema, and then ngayon lang po ito nakaranas ng ganitong volume ng mga aplikante.”
