(CNN Philippines) Metro Manila — Filipinos could soon pay more for farm products after Typhoon Karding wreaked havoc on the country’s agricultural regions, the Department of Agriculture (DA) said.
“Maaring magkaroon ng pagtaas lalong-lalo na sa palay at gulay sapagkat ito’y matinding tinamaan sa Central Luzon. Kaya maaaring tumaas from 15% to 20% ang ating presyo ng kalakalan sa palengke,” said DA Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban in a government briefing on Thursday.
