(CNN Philippines) Metro Manila — Palawan gets recognition again. The renowned tourist destination was described as the “most desirable island” in the world in the Wanderlust Travel Awards.

“The scenery here is heaven on earth with sparkling waters and white sand beaches,” said Wanderlust, one of the longest-running travel publications in the United Kingdom.

Wanderlust also cited the “spectacular” rock formations, underground rivers, and scrumptious local cuisine on the island.

Trailing Palawan is Tobago, while Viti Levu in Fiji came in third.
