(PNC Guam) Filipino-American film producer, 3-time Tony Award winner, and Grammy Award winner Jhett Tolentino is on island to shoot his latest project Re-Live.
In a sit-down interview with PNC, Jhett tells us that he lived in the slums of the Philippines, surrounded by drugs and prostitution. “I never had access to arts back home,” he says. “And I thought, ‘I had to break away from that.’“ he continued.
He once wanted to become a flight attendant, “I’ve always wanted to ask the question: coffee, tea, or me?” he joked.
In 1997, he graduated from the University of Iloilo and received his degree in accounting.
He then worked as an accountant in his hometown and Hong Kong for two years. Jhett moved to California in 2002 to train in sales and marketing for an electronic store, which due to unforeseen circumstances led him jobless.
