(The Manila Times) THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday that a new low pressure area (LPA) was spotted off Palawan.

Weather specialist Ana Clauren told The Manila Times the LPA was last tracked some 405 kilometers west of Coron, also in the province.

“It is embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Luzon and Visayas,” she said.

Although inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Pagasa forecaster said the weather disturbance may eventually dissipate and would not affect most parts of the country.

Asked about the weather conditions all over the country in the next few days, Clauren said Pagasa did not see any disturbance entering PAR except for some isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, especially in Northern Luzon.
